Dr. James E. Graves has spent over 30 years championing the rights of educators and the future of public education. As a teacher, union president, mentor, and community advocate, he has consistently stood alongside educators facing challenges often overlooked—unfair compensation, unsafe learning environments, diminishing planning time, and decisions made without input from those on the front lines.
From leading the Newport News Education Association to launching a nationally recognized college preparatory program for underserved youth, Dr. Graves doesn’t wait for change—he creates it.
